Frequency stability specification

Hi Guys,

What would you say the frequency stability of the Ilumr should be? I’m getting shifts of around 100Hz every 5 minutes, is this normal?

Hi Aaron,

100Hz over 5 minutes sounds fairly normal. The magnet is temperature controlled but variations in room temperature and air currents still have an effect, which you are seeing. Try positioning the ilumr away from A/C units as they tend to switch on and off slowly with a thermostat creating more instability.

To mitigate the effects you can run a find frequency before every measurement. I’ve added a notebook to our resources repository that demonstrates how to do this programmatically:
